How to Do Carp and Catfish Fishing:
There are two ways of fishing for Carp and Catfish. We could do either floating fishing or deep water fishing by using sinker.
Float FIshing : We use a float to hang the bait to make the bait stay 1-2 meter down under the water surface at the level that the fish would swim. The most fun part is how to mix the right and attractive bait. We mix the bait by using processed bait powder to mix with an egg or a yellow banana and a little bit of water. The eggs or bananas make the power sticky which is easy to make it as a little ball to put on the hook. The banana or egg also help producing better smell for the bait. When the fish eat or swallow the bait, it sinks the float and that is when we immediately set the hook. The expected fish size is between 3Kg and 10kg and off course this size of fish fight very hard making this game really exciting.
Deep Water Fishing: We use sinker to help casting further and to help sink the bait down to the bottom. Then we just stand the rod and wait. By adding a little bell on the rod tip to alert when the fish bite, while an angler is waiting, an angler could have free hand to take photos, to drink beers, to read books or to enjoy with the peacefulness and beautiful scenery.
Hampala Barb often aggressively strike the top water lure just like Snakehead Fish except its size is only between 500g and 2 Kilograms. We fish for Hampala Barb by using the same technique to Snakehead Fish except we use smaller lures and sometimes we swim baits.
